What support is provided by Apprenticeships New Anglia?
We provide you and your students with real time information on local businesses and their skills needs.
We match your students to the businesses that can best help and support them to get an Apprenticeship.
We actively contact local businesses to generate suitable opportunities that meet the students career aims.
Our service is primarilly about one to one or one to few bespoke support. We recognise that everyone's aims and aspirations are different and we aim to provide a tailor made opportunity for everyone who wants one.
We take ability, locality and motivation into consideration when making offers for Apprenticeships so we may suggest a pathway that does not immediately lead to an Apprenticeship in some cases.
Our service includes the opportunity for multiple encounters with businesses. These include:
An initial virtual or face to face meeting with TrAC, who are an employer of apprentices across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Work experience opportunities, delivered out of term time during year 11, 12 or 13 (with the schools authority).
Mentoring from the business community through the Seckford Springboard.
Interviews with prospective employers.
Apprenticeships New Anglia will arrange and organise work placements, work tasters, visits to local employers and work shadowing as part of our support for young people to prepare them for transition from education to Apprenticeship.
At all times, these sessions will be delivered only once school authority has been provided and at times that do not affect critial study or learning time.
Apprenticeships New Anglia will ensure that students receive accurate information on the availability of Apprenticeships at Intermediate, Advanced and Higher Levels, including Degree level and Masters level where appropriate from a range of Apprenticeship Providers.
Apprenticeships New Anglia aims to work with all Apprenticeship Providers who are operating in Norfolk and/or Suffolk and will facilitate their engagement in schools.
This supports the school to ensure meaningful encounters with Apprenticeship Providers alongside other FE and HE choices.
Apprenticeships New Anglia works in partnership with the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge services delivered by CXK. We aim to add value and have committed to avoid duplication at all costs.
Because our service is delivered over a period of up to a year, working specifically with students whose primary aspiration is an Apprenticeship on a one to one or one to few basis, we are able to take referrals from the ASK events. We aim to be the service that takes those young people whose interest in Apprenticeships has been initially stimulated, to the next level, application and seamless transition to an Apprenticeship.
We also work closely with Suffolk County Council, Norfolk County Council Participation Strategy Team and with New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.
