What will the apprentice be doing on site

We have a rare opportunity to place an apprentice in a globally recognised Marine services firm. The apprentice will work across a nine-acre site, responsible for the many aspects of the day to day running of the marina and hire fleet. The role Includes customer service, inspecting and valeting the hire fleet, fuel delivery and customer demos. working along side technicians and engineers conducting repairs and servicing on the hire fleet and privately owned Luxury Motor yachts.

Relevant information about the project

This is a pathway opportunity, meaning that after successful completion of this 12 month Apprenticeship, having demonstrated good progress and working practice, progression onto specialist areas will be optional such as a level 3 Apprenticeship in Marine engineering or other areas such as electrical work or boatbuilding.

This course will give a good insight into all of these areas helping you decide on your career path.

Are there restrictions

Ability to travel to Brundall.

The role includes working Saturdays in peak season and taking a week day off instead.

What sort of candidate are you looking for

Ideally this would suit someone with an interest in being around the water, working on and in boats and river craft. with an interest in practical skills, using tools, problem solving.

If you are interested in a career in marine engineering but would like a chance to work in the sector first, this is the first step.

Previous experience with hand tools would be useful, any experience with boats advantages.

Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate will have GCSE English and Maths, at grade 4. However, assistance can be given with additional functional skills if grades are lower.

Relevant information about the site

This is a rural role and the apprentice will need make sure they can get to the business. The role can include working outdoors in all weathers.
