What will the apprentice be doing on site

This is a kickstart role for six months, you will need to give the following code along with the job tile to your job coach who will be able to process your application. Ref KS0B874B0C.

This role would suit someone with an interest boats, boat building and Marine repairs. The employer is Moore Networking Limited, a social enterprise who supports businesses and young people seeking work or Apprenticeships. Successful completion of this Kickstart placement may lead to employment or further training opportunities with the host employer or through TrAC, a local not for profit Apprenticeship Training Agency.



This placement will involve working in a Family run Boat Building Yard, learning the various aspects of the sector, such as wood working, preparation, painting, and general workshop housekeeping and maintenance. The role involves assisting the experienced boat builders in carrying out repairs and boat building tasks along with general site duties including shadowing, fetching, and assisting the team. Anti-fowling, site maintenance and customer service will be a part of the role.



Duties to include (but not limited to)

Customer service
Inspecting and valeting boats
Anti fouling
Driving water craft
Assisting with launching and recovery using cranes and slipways.
Working along side technicians and engineers assisting with repairs and servicing on customer boats.
