What will the apprentice be doing on site

We have a great opportunity for an apprentice to work in a Norwich based business that specialises in the manufacture of Kitchen and Bedroom cabinetry and furniture. Working as part of a team in the workshop, the apprentice will be involved in:

The team builds cabinets, doors, bookcases and other bespoke products from scratch in their workshop using both hand and power tools and then installs products in Customer’s homes and businesses.

The successful candidate will work within a small team of highly skilled Carpenters learning both traditional and more modern techniques and will be involved with:
• Creation from scratch of doors, units, bespoke kitchen and bathroom cabinets, worktops, bookcases and wardrobes in a workshop setting.
• Installation of created products on site.
• Installation of skirting boards.
• Installation of solid wood, vinyl and laminate flooring.
• Assisting Customer’s with design of layout, look and finish of items.
• Project management of Customer’s project.
• Working with other trades people on site.
• Renovation work.
• Using traditional hand tools and the maintenance of them.
• Using power tools and the maintenance of them.
• Carrying out work to a high standard.
• Working with other trades people
• Assist sprayer as necessary
• Assist in delivery of furniture to site
• Keeping work area clean & tidy

Are there restrictions

Because this role is 45 hours a week, this job is unsuitable for under 18's as part of the Working Time Directive

Desirable qualities

• The ideal candidate will not need previous qualifications in Carpentry or Furniture Manufacturing, but a keen interest in woodworking is required.
• Due to the location of the business, a driving license and own car is preferable, but not essential.
